Bad Gyal, born Alba Farelo, is a Spanish singer-songwriter and producer. Born in Vilassar de Mar, Catalonia to voice actor Eduard Farelo, she released her first track "Pai -" a Spanglish cover of Rihanna's "Work -" in 2016. She was still at university when the track's radio and online success encouraged her to create the mixtape Slow Wine. One of the tracks on the mixtape, "Jacaranda," did especially well commercially. Her next release, 2018's Worldwide Ángel, featured the tracks "Candela," "Yo Sigo lual" and "Nicest Cocky," among others. Her continued success on popular charts caught the attention of industry moguls and in 2019, Farelo signed a record deal with Interscope Records and Aftercluv.
