Black Janis is a cover band lead by Sam Reed. Sam on her own is a successful R&B artist from Richmond, VA. She efficiently manages to create a blend of rock, soul, jazz and southern gospel in her songs. She shows similar kind of versatility in her voice, by hitting all the highs and lows with perfect grandeur. Putting all this talent to use, she created the cover band Black Janis which is her attempt to bring Janis Joplin’s music to life.
