The Moreirense Football Club comes from the village of Moreira de Cónegos in the Minho region. The team was established in 1938 and only reached the coveted Primeira Liga in 2002, having been relegated in lower divisions since its inception. Moreirense takes the pitch at the intimate Parque Joaquim Almeida Freitas which has a capacity of 9,000.
