Celia Pavey, better known by her stage name Vera Blue is a singer-songwriter from Forbes, Australia. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, she started learning acoustic guitar in high school and soon discovered her passion for classic folk music. In 2013, Pavey participated in The Voice Australia and ended up finishing in third place on the show. After signing with Mercury Records, she released her debut studio album The Music which peaked at number 14 on the ARIA charts and was well-received by the critics. Her seamless blend of folk music with modern electronic beats, along with emotionally raw lyrics is what makes Vera Blue so unique. Her songs "Private", "Mended", "Lady Powers" from the album Perennial were massive hits that peaked the album at number six on the ARIA charts and an ARIA award nomination for Best Pop Release.
