A highly decorated Polish football club, Legia Warsaw has always been a dominant force in Polish football. It was formed in 1916 as a football club of the Polish Legions during World War I and has been playing its home fixtures at the Polish Army Stadium since 1930. It holds the record for most Polish cup wins with 19 trophies and has also won the Ekstraklasa on numerous occasions. It has been a dominant force in Europe as well and has progressed to the semi-final stages of both the UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Notable alumni include Dariusz Dziekanowski, Łukasz Fabiański and Bartosz Bereszyński.
