The Turkish team Gaziantep Basketbol was founded in 52007 and competes in the Basketbol Süper Ligi. The team first received climbed the Turkish basketball ladder in 2011 by making it to the second division. It was promoted once again, after the following season making it to the nation's top league. Gaziantep Basketbol plays its home matches at Karataş Şahinbey Sport Hall.
