Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast Gliwice usually referred to as “Piast Gliwice” is a football club that competes in the Ekstraklasa which is the highest level of professional football in Poland. Formed in 1945, it spent several years in the second tier of Polish football and achieved promotion to the Ekstraklasa for the first time in 2008. Its crowning achievement came in the 2018-19 season when it won its first ever Ekstraklasa trophy and etched its name in Polish football history. It has also featured in the qualification rounds of the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League.
