Written in 1848, by acclaimed French novelist Alexandre Dumas, La Dame aux Camélias tells the story of a tragic love affaire. In this semi-biographical story, the protagonist Armand, falls in love with a courtesan named Marguerite. Their love is short-lived because Armand's family pressures Marguerite to leave which leads to her sad and lonely death.
