José Gálvez FBC is a football club that was formed in 1951 in the city of Chimbote, Perú. It was initially named Manuel Rivera but was later renamed to José Gálvez FBC in 1963. The club had created a strong reputation for itself in the regional games, but it achieved its first major victory in 1996 by winning the Copa Peru competition. This was later topped in 2011 when the club won the Peruvian Segunda División for the first time. It is currently one of the competitors in the Copa Perú and it uses the Estadio Manuel Rivera Sánchez for its home games.
