Written by celebrated French writer, Marcel Pagnol, Topaze tells the story of a school teacher who is simply too honest. After being fired from his teaching position for being an abject truth teller, Monsieur Topaze decides to become a crooked businessman. Written by Pagnol in 1928, the play was first adapted for the screen in 1951 and since then has sprouted several different film adaptations in various languages.
