Carpi FC was founded by a young Adolfo Fanconi in 1909 as Jucunditas. A few years later the club took on the name A. C. Carpi. the club competed in the Italian Football Championship until 1922 after which it mostly played in the Erie C and Serie D. A final relegation to Serie D and bankruptcy led to the cancellation of the club in 2000. It reformed in the same year as Calcio Carpi only to adopt the name Carpi FC in 2002. After the 2010–11 season, the club earned a promotion to the Lega Pro Prima Divisione. it entered the Serie B in the 2012–13 season. The club had been promoted thrice in its first four years of reformation itself. The club gained entry into Serie A in 2015 but was relegated in the next season itself. The club plays its home matches at Stadio Sandro Cabassi.
