Labinot Gashi, known in the music industry as Gashi, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on October 4, 1989, in Tripoli, Libya, to parents of Albanian descent from Kosovo. Gashi's childhood was marked by relocations across various African and European countries until he settled in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of ten. Encountering difficulties with the English language, he embraced music as a form of adaptation and personal expression. Initially, he attended college on a football scholarship but later decided to leave in order to pursue a career in music. His debut mixtape, Last of a Rare Breed, was released in 2011 and included collaborations with artists such as Nipsey Hussle and French Montana. Gashi rose to prominence with his hit songs "Rocket" and "Beautiful World," and his 2019 self-titled album featured collaborations with G-Eazy, French Montana, and DJ Snake.
