The semi-professional football club, Ballinamallard United, is based in the small village of Ballinamallard, Northern Ireland. It was formed in 1975, but its roots go back to the 1960s. It uses Ferney Park as its home ground and competes in the NIFL Championship. One of the club's golden eras began in 2012 when it paved its way into the NIFL Premiership. Even though its run in the top league lasted for a few years, it managed to punch above its weight on numerous occasions. Winning the North West Senior Cup in 2020 is considered to be one of its biggest achievements.
