Looking to create unobtrusive songs during his downtime, Converge frontman Jacob Bannon started recording his personal songs in a simple, lo-fi manner. Over the years, the Essex, Massachusetts-based frontman would rack up a number of demos. Eventually going on to recruit friends and musicians who properly record and flesh out these tunes, Bannon would wind up with a band: Wear Your Wounds. The group's debut album, 2017's WYW, manages to act as a lynchpin for Bannon's artistic sensibilities and further demonstrates his relevance in the modern hard rock music scene.
