Manawatu Turbos is one of the top rugby teams in the Manawatu-Wanganui region of New Zealand. Formed in 2006, it became the first team from the region to compete in the Mitre 10 Cup (then called National Provincial Championship) in almost 20 years. Its penchant for supporting local talent has helped produce many exciting, young players that have gone on to play at the Super Rugby level. The team plays its home matches at the Central Energy Trust Arena.
