Monsoon Wedding is a stage adaptation of a movie of the same name. The plot follows the Verma family as they ready themselves for their daughter Aditi's wedding. Attending to the friends and extended family and preparing for the four-day-long event is taking a toll on the Verma household. Amid the chaos is hidden a story filled to the brim with hidden secrets, tormenting pasts and hopeful futures. The musical is directed by Mira Nair who had also directed the film version.
