Its official name is Stichting Betaald Voetbal Vitesse, however most fans refer to them as just Vitesse. The club is from Arnhem and it’s one of the oldest in the Netherlands, having been founded in 1892. At the turn of the century, Vitesse was the quintessential ‘second fiddle’ when it finished as a runner-up five times between 1897 and 1915 for the Netherlands Football League Championship. The club has won the First Division (Eerste Divisie) twice and the Second Division (Tweede Divisie) once, but never in the Dutch top-flight. Vitesse takes the pitch at the GelreDome where visitors can join more than 25,000 screaming football fans.
