A member of Liga MX, Mexico's premier league, Club de Fútbol Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (or, simply Tigres de la UANL), is a professional football team based out of San Nicolás de los Garza. Los Tigres (The Tigers) entered the league in 1960 and won their first Liga MX championship at the conclusion of the 1977-1978 season. The club hosts its home matches at Estadio Universitario.
