Warpaint is a Los Angeles-based band that blends a myriad of styles including dream pop, avant rock and and neo-psych into a cohesive and extremely listenable whole. Formed in 2004, the group spent the first couple years after its inception playing gigs around Los Angeles--providing an opportunity for the group to refine its style and polish its songwriting approach before entering the studio to record its debut 2009 EP, Exquisite Corpse. Receiving heaps of critical acclaim for its unique sound, the EP helped introduce listeners to a band that's unafraid to indulge in artistic sensibilities in order to achieve its musical endgame. Continuing to evolve and mature itself, Warpaint release its its first full length album, The Fool, in 2010 and the LP further solidified the all female band's reputation as one of the more promising Southern California bands of its generation.
