Sv Wehen Wiesbaden may not compete at the top level of German football, but it still is one of the most consistent teams of the league. Founded in 1926 as an amateur football club, its early years were spent playing in the amateur division, until a major break in 1994 elevated it to professional status. While the club spent most of its time playing in the third tier of the league system, a third-place finish in 2019 and a subsequent playoff win earned it a promotion into 2.Bundesliga.
