Kawasaki Frontale is a Japanese football club that represents the city of Kawasaki in the top flight of the national football league system. Founded in 1955, it became professional in 1997 it rose to the top of the second division in 1999. However, it went on to underperformed and was relegated to the third division. It resurged in the second half of the 2000s and went on to win the league title in 2017. The club has since been a consistent performer and honed talents like Junichi Inamoto, Eiji Kawashima, Kengo Nakamura, Yoshito Ōkubo and Ryota Oshima, among others. It is based at the Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium in Nakahara.
