Charlotte Day Wilson is a Canadian contemporary R&B singer-songwriter, born in 1993 in Toronto. She rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with her hit single "Work" and notable collaborations with artists such as Daniel Caesar and BadBadNotGood. Initially trained in classical piano, Wilson taught herself music production and independently released her first EP, Palimpsest, in 2012. After moving back to Toronto from Halifax, she interned at Arts & Crafts Productions and launched her second EP, CDW, in 2016, which garnered a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination for "Work." Her third EP, Stone Woman, released in 2018, highlighted her distinctive sound. On July 9, 2021, she released her debut album, Alpha, which included collaborations with prominent Toronto musicians and earned her several Juno nominations. Identifying as queer, Wilson continues to make significant contributions to the R&B genre, with her upcoming sophomore album, Cyan Blue, scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, further solidifying her artistic identity and influence.
