Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles or the Rakuten Eagles is the flag-bearer of the city of Sendai, Japan, in the Pacific League of Nippon Professional Baseball. Established in 2005, the team wasted no in time in making its presence felt in the league by picking up a Pacific League championship and Japan Series championship within a decade. While the team has always managed to field some of the best players in country, it has also produced gems like Hisashi Iwakuma, Masahiro Tanaka and Kazuo Fukumori, who went on to have successful careers in the MLB.
