Singer-songwriter Phoebe Holiday Ryan grew up in New Jersey and honed her skills at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. She started out as a writer for the likes of Oh Honey, Bea Miller, Tritonal and Melanie Martinez. She appeared on Tritonal's single "Now or Never" in 2014, before releasing her first track "Ignition/Do You," which was a mashup of R. Kelly's and Miguel's "Ignition" and "Do You." This track went on to feature on her debut EP Mine, released in 2015 via Columbia Records. Mine was highly praised, not only by the listeners and critics, but also by other mainstream artists. Some of her other tracks include "Chronic," "Dark Side," "Almost Back," "A Thousand Ways" and "ICIMY." Her second EP James was issued in 2017.
