Based in Wollongong, NSW, Illawarra Hawks is a professional Australian Basketball team that features in the National Basketball League (NBL). Established in 1979, the team was known as “Wollongong Hawks” between 1998 to 2015 but reverted to its original name from the 2015-16 season in order to represent not only Wollongong but the entire Illawarra region. The team plays its home games at the WIN Entertainment Centre and is the only team to have featured in all the seasons of the NBL since its inception with one championship to its credit.
