Crime writer Agatha Christie wrote this three-act play in 1954 and it features a whodunit type of plot which follows the governess Clarissa Hailsham-Brown and her stepdaughter, Pippa. As with most of Christie's work, the play presents a bucolic backdrop in the countryside, clueless and sometimes unsavory characters and ultimately, a murder. When Clarissa, Pippa and the other characters try to find the killer, somebody moves the body just as the police arrive which only evinces more questions. The finale is classic Agatha Christie in which everything becomes resolved in a tidy fashion, where the protagonist absconds and the villain remains in shackles.
