This theater piece written by Éric Emmanuel Schmitt depicts a scene in which Sigmund Freud confronts a strange visitor during the Nazi annexation of Austria in 1938. The visitor somehow knows everything about the doctor, which makes him reconsider his atheist stance as well as his ideas on mortality. A suspenseful dialogue ensues until the end, when Freud finally finds out who the visitor is and what it wants. This piece by Schmitt has been translated in 15 different languages and portrayed in 25 different countries, needless to say it is one of his best.
