This play follows the story of one Antonio Barracano, a figure whom everyone in the neighborhood or Rione, admires for his sense of justice. Since it takes place in Naples, many have interpreted his clout to those in which professional camorristi (Neapolitan mobsters) wield, however others have attributed his power to more of a Robin Hood vigilantism. The work created by Eduardo De Filippo in 1960 reveals the struggle between understanding what good and evil truly signifies as well as the impotent judicial system in Naples.
