Il Milione is a theatrical monologue which depicts the history of Venice and its precarious relationship over the millennia with land and sea. The piece also centers on the Venetian people, riches and politics as it twists between contemporary and classic scenes. Il Milione was created by Marco Paolini and the play is based upon the live theater television broadcast which was shown on Rai 2 in 1998.
