The Heat hail from the Northern California city of Stockton and the squad plays in the AHL's Western Conference Pacific Division. The team was originally called the Adirondack Flames before the parent Calgary Flames moved the club during the westward expansion of 2014 in the AHL. The Flames as well as several other teams moved their affiliate hockey teams from the East Coast to the West. The franchise originally started in Maine as the Mariners, however since their inception way back in 1977, this outfit has shuffled between Utica, NY, Omaha, NE and New Brunswick, Canada.
