Hapoel Petah Tikva was established in 1934. The Israeli football club plays in the Liga Leumit. The team almost secured its first win in the 1944 Palestine Wartime Cup but had to forfeit the match. It finally won its first championship in the 1954–55 season. The club plays its home matches at HaMoshava Stadium.
