Shelbourne F.C. was founded in 1895 in the city of Dublin, Ireland. It was fairly known in the country during the initial years of its career, mostly due to its impressive performances at the IFA Cup games. In 1921, the club embarked on a new chapter in the League of Ireland's inaugural season. It won its first Premier Division title in 1926. The club spent a good chunk of its existence in the Premier Division and established itself as one of the powerful forces in the league. It has shown equally impressive performances in the FAI Cup, League of Ireland Shield (now defunct) and many other major competitions. The club uses Dublin’s Tolka Park as its home ground and competes in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
