C.D. Tondela comes from the small village of Tondela in the Viseu das Lafões administrative district of Portugal. Since its establishment in 1933, the team has primarily played in the lower divisions of Portuguese football. However, Tondela entered the Primeira Liga for the first time in 2015 when Vítor Paneira joined the team as manager. Tondela takes the pitch at the Estádio João Cardoso and it has a capacity of approximately 7,000.
