Salthill Devon F.C. is a football club which has been a strong force in the lower division of Ireland. It was formed in 1947 in Salthill as Salthill Crusaders, but its merger with Salthill Athletic in 1997 gave the club its current name. It rose to popularity due to its performances in the Connacht Senior League. It won the league title in 1991, which resided next to its Connacht Senior Cup and the Connacht Senior League Challenge Cup. In the early 2000s, the club competed in the League of Ireland U21 Division games and climbed its way to the first division. But the club couldn’t maintain its position in the league for a long time. Salthill Devon is now one of the clubs who compete in the Galway & District League and can be seen playing its home games at the Drom Soccer Park.
