One of the most successful and dominant football clubs in Hungary, Újpest FC is a name that has always made headlines for its victories. Founded in 1885, it competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I and has been relegated only once in its entire history. Also known as “Lilák”, it plays its home fixtures at the Szusza Ferenc stadion. Its trophy cabinet is stacked with numerous titles including the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Magyar Kupa, Szuperkupa, Mitropa Cup, Coupe des Nations and have also featured in Europe’s premier tournaments such as European Cup of Champions, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
