Debreceni VSC was formed in 1902 in the city of Debrecen, Hungary. During its initial years, it was overshadowed by other more powerful teams and only played in the lower leagues. But things changed eventually and the club made its way into the Nemzeti Bajnokság I in 1943. It was a wasn’t smooth sail ahead, but the club survived and retained its spot in the top league. Since 1993, they have not only been a consistent performer in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, but a prominent one too.
