Le Donne Gelose, or The Jealous Women, is Carlo Goldoni's first stage comedy written entirely in Venetian. Examining a single neighborhood in Venice that's home to a small bourgeoisie community on the brink of poverty, the production depicts a claustrophobic world where economic hardships drive jealousy, violence and crude consumerism.
