Biréli Lagrène is a French jazz guitarist who blends elements of gypsy folk, swing and post-bop styles into his unique playing. Initially rising to prominence in the early 1980s for his Django Reinhardt influenced playing, Lagrène has since gone on to collaborate with noted names from the jazz scene including John McLaughlin, Stanley Clarke and Benny Goodman.
