The Swallow, also known as La rondine, is an opera in three acts by Italian author Giacoma Puccini with a libretto by Giuseppe Adami. The story follows the love affair between a young courtesan named Magda and a naive young man named Ruggero who comes from more moderate means. The two lovers fall instantly for the other while Magda is in disguise, and their relationship suffers the trials and tribulations that come with kept secrets and guilt.
