Fortunate Deception, or L'inganno felice, is an Italian opera by Gioachino Rossini. Told in one act, the story follows Isabella a Duchess who is in love and married to Duke Bertrando. After she refused the advances of the evil Ormondo, who spread rumors of her infidelity to the Duke when she refused his advances, she is kidnapped and cast her out to sea. She is rescued by a kind local miner, and ten years later she has her first encounter with her long-lost husband, who also happens to be traveling with Ormondo.
