Rain City Drive, an American rock band hailing from Palm Coast, Florida, originated from the transformation of the post-hardcore group Slaves. The ensemble consists of Matt McAndrew (vocals), Weston Richmond (lead guitar), Felipe Sanchez (rhythm guitar), Colin Vieira (bass), and Zachary Baker (drums). In 2021, they rebranded themselves after parting ways with the contentious name "Slaves." The name Rain City Drive is a nod to Manchester, England, where the members first convened, symbolizing their resilience in the face of adversity. Following the exit of former lead vocalist Jonny Craig, McAndrew, who gained recognition as a finalist on The Voice, stepped in as the new lead singer. Their inaugural album under the new moniker, To Better Days (2020), showcases their musical evolution. The band signed with Thriller Records and released their self-titled album in 2022, followed by Things are Different Now in 2024. With popular singles such as "Cutting It Close" and "Frozen," they continue to expand upon their post-hardcore foundations while evolving their sound and enjoying robust support from their fanbase.
