Mainliner

Mainliner is a noise rock band that helped introduce Japan to a new form of psychedelic music. Founded in 1995, the group released its first album Mellow Out, 1996, debuting a droning, manic brand of psychedelia that had yet to be fully explored in the Toyko music scene. Over the next three records, the band pushed the limits of its sound before embarking on a hiatus in the early 2000s. Nearly a decade later in 2011, Mainliner reformed around founder and guitarist Kawabata Makoto and released the 2013 LP, Revelation Space, with Riot Season records.
