An Oak Tree is a play by dramatist Tim Crouch. The story follows a father who has recently lost his daughter in a car crash and a stage hypnotist, who was the driver of the car involved in the said crash. The playwright himself essays the role of the hypnotist, whereas a new actor dons the character of the father at each performance. The play was met with critical acclaim post its premiere, with most of its shows being sold out. It has been staged across the world, and numerous guest actors such as Mike Myers, Roger Lloyd Pack and Lili Taylor have appeared as the father.
