Irish dramatist George Bernard Shaw wrote the four-act play Man and Superman in 1903. A satirical comedy, it is set in the aftermath of the death of Mr. Whitefield - an elderly gentleman immensely proud of his high social standing. Through his will, he instructs Roebuck Ramsden and John Tanner to take care of his daughter Ann. The play premiered in 1905 at the Stage Society, Royal Court Theatre, London and is based on the Don Juan theme.
