Stillheten is one of Swedish playwright Lars Norén's best works. The last part of a puppet trilogy it is preceded by Natten är dagens mor and Kaos är granne med Gud. Norén draws inspiration for the play from his dysfunctional family and all the conflict that embroils within such a family. The play premiered in 1988 at Dramatens and was directed by Christian Tomner. although a part of the series the play has received a higher level of success than the others in its series and has usually been treated by theater troupes as a separate entity.
