Doug Seegers is a country music artist and Long Island native who made a name for himself with a classic Nashville sound. After trying his hand in the New York City and Austin, TX music scenes, he found his way to Nashville and busked his way to modest ends. Though he had yet to solidify a following at home, Seegers earned sudden attention in Sweden after a chance meeting with a Swedish television crew who was filming a documentary about music in Nashville in 2014. After hearing Seegers play, the producers and host of Jills veranda brought the struggling artist to Sweden, where he won over a national audience with his performance of his original song "Going Down to the River." The song went on to become an instant hit, earning him attention from Lionheart Music Group, who released his debut album in 2014. His fairy-tale journey from street performer to international tour headliner has earned him the respect of country music legends, such as Emmylou Harris, who appears on his LP.
