The football club FC Hämeenlinna represents the city of Hämeenlinna in the Finnish football league system. The club was established in 1991 after the merger of HPK and Pallo-Kärpät and gained entry into the third division the next year. In 1993, it advanced to the second division before being relegated back to the third tier in 1998. It plays its home fixtures at the Kauriala kenttä.
