Bend It Like Beckham is a musical that's based off of the Gurinder Chadha's film of the same name. The stage production tells the story of Jess, an 18-year old who is torn between her dream of becoming a professional football player and her tradition indian family. Though she is expected to finish university, start a career and marry, just as her sister is about to do, she is discovered by Jules, a footballer on a local women's club, the Hounslow Harriers. Jess joins the team and hones in on her skills while she leads her family to believe she has a job, but as her secrets begin to unravel, both she and Jules are forced to confront the contradicting sides of their lives.
