With music and lyrics by Sting, The Last Ship is a musical theater production inspired by the English musician's childhood in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear. As the town's shipbuilding industry quickly deteriorates with the closure of the once prestigious Swan Hunter shipyard, the community is forced to come together to figure out the future of its home. Initially performed in Chicago, The Last Ship premiered on Broadway in 2014.
