Club Social y Deportivo Macará, which is popularly known as Macara, is a football club that competes in the Ecuadorian Serie A. It is based in the city of Ambato, Ecuador where its journey began in 1939. During its early years, it always found itself getting side-tracked by the other more powerful clubs. But scoreboards started to favor Macara during the late 1960s and soon it became one of the most competitive contenders in the Serie A. The club has also proved its prowess in the Serie B league and has won the title multiple times. It can be seen playing its home games at the Bellavista stadium.
